Staycation at The Ruby Collection – Surfers Paradise

Do you have a balance between work and play? I certainly don’t! 2018 was a mammoth year for Little Renegade Company and owning a business, parenting and working part time can be all consuming. I was in need of a break amongst the craziness of the Christmas period and the newly completed The Ruby Collection Apartments were calling my name!

It only took us 20 minutes to drive there which was ideal for us, but it felt like we were worlds away from the hustle and bustle of home life. The major drawcard for the apartments was the kids water park which we thought would be a blast for Avalon. However, she much preferred relaxing in the warm spa and I the slides. We were in an Ocean View 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment which had a full kitchen, laundry facilities, car parking and wifi. The furnishings were beautiful and the view of the ocean incredible. We could’ve easily walked to the restaurants and liveliness of Surfers Paradise but Avalon wanted to stay in the hotel and dine. We didn’t have to leave, there was everything there and the staff super helpful! There are lots of daily activities for adults and kids and they also have a kids club for the parents needing some adult time! We also went ice-skating while we were there too!
